Abstract
The epidemiological context of tuberculosis (TB) and drug resistance should be taken into account to optimize the strategies for detecting cases of resistant TB (r-TB). Surveillance data and drug resistance surveys are crucial to help determine the likelihood (or risk) of an individual patient or groups of patients having r-TB, which is necessary to establish effective management strategies for these cases.
